Practice

Representing California consumers through all stages of the legal process, from settlement negotiations through trial and, if necessary, appeal. He has successfully represented dozens of Lemon Law clients over the last several years. He has negotiated with, and litigated against, nearly every major automobile manufacturer, foreign and domestic. He has also represented clients throughout California .

The Lemon Expert has substantial experience litigating cases, but is also successful at mediation and arbitration, so he is able to represent clients in a variety of contexts. While he generally attempts to negotiate an early resolution to most Lemon Law claims, he fights hard for his clients. He has successfully litigated against some of the largest California law firms, which were representing huge automobile manufactures.

Prior Experience

Prior to opening his own practice in 2000, the Lemon Expert practiced law at Littler Mendelson, P.C., a national law firm of over 400 attorneys. He conducted investigations, provided legal counseling, and litigated on behalf of his clients, which ranged from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies. He also clerked for the Oakland City Attorney, the San Francisco Employment Law Center , and Simpson, Aherne & Garrity, P.C. (now Simpson, Garrity & Innes, P.C.).

Memberships

He is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court, all Courts of Appeal and Superior Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He is a member in good standing of the State Bar of California. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, the San Francisco County Bar Association and the litigation and employment law sections of each of these associations.

Education

The Lemon Expert received his law degree (J.D.) in 1998 from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he achieved the following distinctions:

  • Top 10% and the McAuliffe Honor Society
  • Editor, University of San Francisco Law Review
  • Moot Court Award, Best Oral Argument
  • Faculty Award, Law Review Article of the Year
  • American Jurisprudence Award, Contracts
  • Public Interest Law Scholar
