2016 Mazda CX-5 Windshield Defects
Several reports are surfacing about defective windshields in the 2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicle models. Consumers are claiming that their windshields are suddenly popping or cracking in what seem to be spontaneous instances. Whether the cars were on the highway or parked in the garage, the windshields began to warp and crack without provocation.
In a dramatic description, one driver reported that he was driving on the freeway when the driver’s side window completely shattered. When he took the vehicle to the police station, they found no evidence of rocks, pellets, or any other object that made contact with the window, concluding that the explosion must have been caused by a glass defect. Another user commented that his car was parked in his garage and when he returned to his vehicle an hour later, there was a large crack down the middle of his windshield, measuring about twelve inches in length. Most of these reports expressed great frustration at how common this issue seems to be and a general sense of outrage that Mazda has not taken steps to address the problem.
