Bosch is the manufacturer of the defective fuel pumps. The fuel pump failure occurs due to particles detaching from the fuel pump’s cover and the particles travel between the impeller and the pump cover. The loose particles cause the impeller to stop rotating and the fuel pump to fail. This is dangerous because the vehicle can suddenly fail to deliver fuel and cease while driving, causing a car crash and severely affecting the driver’s ability to control the vehicle. Fuel pump failures can pose many other dangers in addition to accidents. A driver is not fully in control of a vehicle which cannot properly deliver fuel to engage the engine.
