2018-2019 Ford F-150 Super Crew Transmission Problems

A number of transmission and powertrain issues have recently been reported by those who own or lease a 2018-2019 Ford F-150 Regular Cab, Super Crew, or Supercab vehicle. From gears that jerk, clunk, and vibrate to engines that lurch or stall when the vehicle is slowing down, consumers are awaiting clear solutions to these persistent problems. While the manufacturer has already issued five recalls pertaining to this vehicle, specific issues relating to the transmission have yet to be addressed or remedied.

According to one driver who recently purchased a 2018-2019 Ford F-150 Super Crew, the transmission immediately began making loud clunking sounds whenever the gears shifted, even jerking hard on several occasions. Another driver explained that after high chronic high amplitude vibration at several speeds—particularly between 50 and 75 miles per hour—the vehicle was taken into the dealership, where the ring and pinion gears were replaced. The issue persisted, and the driver took the truck in again for service. No diagnosis or solution was provided, and these vibrations continue to occur at various speeds. A multitude of similar consumer complaints have been made, as Ford customers wait for the manufacturer to address these powertrain issues.
