2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV Braking System Malfunctions

A significant number of complaints from those who own or lease a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV have been reported in recent months, many of which focus on braking systems that emit concerning sounds or fail to respond properly. Multiple reports of brakes that squeal loudly for no apparent reason and at unpredictable times have prompted consumers to seek answers. Unfortunately, while the manufacturer has already issued nine recalls for this particular vehicle, braking problems have not been addressed directly. In the meantime, drivers remain wary of these issues and urge their fellow consumers to be on the lookout for similar issues in their vehicles.

One driver reported that brake issues began only weeks after bringing home their new 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV. The brakes would emit a loud squeaking noise, which could be heard by people who were at a considerable distance away from the car. Even after the brakes were changed and serviced, the issue started up again. Another consumer described how the car was entering a parking spot at a low speed, when the car suddenly accelerated and lurched forward into a wall. As the car began to accelerate, the driver tried to press the brakes but they failed to engage or respond. A number of similar complaints continue to emerge, even as the manufacturer has not yet addressed these braking issues.
