2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 PU/CC Engine Issues

For people who own or lease a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 PU/CC, it’s important to recognize that a wide range of engine troubles have been reported by consumers in recent months. From engines that sputter, lose power, or catch fire, there are a number of engine issues that occur repeatedly and without clear cause. While the manufacturer has issued one recall over an engine block heater that could short circuit, there are many other persistent engine problems that have not been acknowledged by the manufacturer, leaving consumers without effective remedies for these issues.

One driver reported multiple instances where the vehicle was accelerating between 30 and 50 miles per hour and suddenly a complete loss of engine power occurred. The engine then began to sputter loudly and decelerates significantly, eventually returning to operating normally. Another owner of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 PU/CC detailed a recurring issue where a loud explosive noise could be heard coming from the engine while the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 65 miles per hour. After the loud noise occurred, the vehicle decelerated quickly. Even after restarting the vehicle and taking it to the dealership, the failure continues to happen without a clear diagnosis. Other reports of engines catching fire or otherwise failing have also been reported.
