2020 Land Rover Defender Brake System Failures

Those who own or lease a 2020 Land Rover Defender should be aware that a number of consumer complaints have recently emerged regarding faulty braking systems. Several customers have experienced unresponsive brakes—sometimes accompanied by steering loss—while in motion. The manufacturer has yet to directly respond to these concerns, leaving Land Rover customers without clear answers or options for remedying these braking issues.

One owner of the 2020 Land Rover Defender experienced total brake and steering loss while traveling at a speed of 60 miles per hour. Fortunately, the driver was able to maneuver the vehicle to safety in order to avoid a collision. Another driver was driving their newly-purchased Defender on the freeway, when the brakes failed without any warning. The dealership failed to identify or diagnose the issue. Since then, the owner has been hesitant to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns. Other reports of 2020 Land Rover Defenders that suddenly and inexplicably experience total loss of braking power have been reported, prompting many to voice their fears about the overall safety of this make and model.
