2020 Ram 1500 Classic Engine and Acceleration Issues

For those who own or lease a 2020 Ram 1500 Classic, it’s helpful to know that a wide variety of engine, power, and acceleration issues have been reported by concerned consumers. From vehicles that fail to start, lag significantly during acceleration, or shake violently when transitioning between gears, concerned customers are expressing their frustrating (and sometimes frightening) experiences with these engine defects. This vehicle is currently impacted by seven separate recalls, but only one applies to any potential issues with acceleration or deceleration. For the most part, consumers have been left to navigate these challenges on their own.

One owner of the 2020 Ram 1500 Classic stated that his truck often fails to properly accelerate, leading to hazardous moments when attempting to merge with traffic. He reported that the engine will slowly accelerate, even though the accelerator is fully depressed. So far, the dealer has been unable to diagnose the issue. Another customer voiced frustration with his 2020 Ram 1500 Classic that failed to start intermittently, without clear warning or reason. Other reports of these trucks failing to accelerate properly or even start as intended continue to emerge, despite a lack of acknowledgement from the manufacturer.
